I was born in 1964 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada and moved to Barbados when I was eighteen months old. This is where my love and interest of dogs began. I would observe and interact with my Grandmothers yard dogs. I was fascinated with their behavior and how they communicated with one another. Over the next few years I rescued many puppies and dogs in need.

Training & Education
Our family relocated back to Canada, where at the age of seventeen, I acquired a White German Shepherd called Yukon Terri Tory. At John Menzies Dog Training School in Parris, Ontario, I attended kindergarten puppy classes as well as basic obedience. I returned to Barbados and acquired a dog called Adolph. Not being able to find any dog training schools in Barbados, I continued to train Adolph using my previous experience with Yukon.

A few years later I bought another dog ''Warry' and enrolled in special beginners classes at The Barbados Dog Training Club where he placed 1st in the class. I went on to receive a C.D. Title (companion dog) on him and was now on the committee of the Dog Training Club. Soon after this I began to see a need for personalized dog training and dealing with severe behavior problems which obedience alone was not the answer. This is when I received my calling - I began to research many dog trainer schools in Canada and the U.S.

I attended Jo-Thor's Dog Trainers Academy in Marietta, Georgia U.S.A. Joan Lask was head of this very successful dog training school. I received daily practical experience with approximately 30 dogs in her doggy day school as well as private and group lessons in the evenings and weekends. The duration of the course was four months but I graduated in 9 weeks with honors!!! I returned to Barbados with a good training foundation and began Pawsability Dog Training Academy.

After four years of training here in Barbados, impacting on the dog scene, my passion to develop my knowledge succumbed me and relocated to Canada for five years to further my education in dog training. I attended many seminars with top trainers across Canada and the U.S. learning various philosophy's on canine psychology, obedience training and Schutzhund.

Here I acquired two fantastic German Shepherds which competed across the counties obtaining many first places in C.K.C. and Schutzhund events. Thor, Ayla and myself returned to Barbados in 2005 and are now living here permanently.
